Call of Duty world at war multiplayer info

October 4, 2008 · Filed Under Main Page, News, PS3, Site News, Weapons, Xbox

This call of duty world at war info comes from an article in the CVG magazine (Computer Video Games) Thanks for sending this in to us, After reading through these features myself i cant wait to get a hold of this game now, All this hype about the call of duty world at war Beta & call of duty world at war Demo coming out has been exactly that “HYPE” we are not far from a release now tho, But new videos new info really does seem like Treyarch are going to pull this one off. Anyhow lets go through some of the call of duty world at war features / call of duty 5 features.

“To begin with, new search preferences option have been included in the matchmaking screen. This means its easier for you to form a squad with a band of randoms who are more likely to be the same skill level as you (if you’re not a fan of playing with strangers you can you party privacy to close you game to outsiders). To help you fine tunes thing even further, the lobby leaderboard will display stats specific to the matches you played as a group, so you can find the weakest link.

Class of ‘45

CoD4’s character class system is making a return to, allowing you to define your weapons and bonus abilities according to the class you choose. classes include riflemen, light & heavy assault and support roles, and several other unconfirmed units.
Should you fancy a change mid game, you can simply bring up the pause menu, select your desired job and the next time you die, you’ll respawn a new man.

This then ties in with CoD’s ego stroking prestige system. In Modern Warfare, youd earn XP points for every man you killed, which would level you and your weapons up unlocking new perks and options along the way, Once you hit lvl 55, you had the option to reset back to level 1. Even though this meant you lost all your hard earned perks and gear, bout you’d be rewarded with a shiny new medal indicating you bad-assed skills.
this could be repeated nine times. However in WaW not only will you get kudos, youll unlock additional class slots, meaning that by the time you prestige ten times you’ll have access to all ten character classes mid battle.

The weapons you start with will depend on what class you choose. As well as guns youll be given frags, Molotov cocktails, sticky grenades, bouncing betties and smoke grenades.
However the best new arnaments are the gas bombs and signal flares. Drop a gas bomb and anyone caught in its area of effect will be stunned leaving the wide open to attack. Meanwhile, the signal flare will unleash a vicious volume of white light. Lay down a row of them and you’ll blind the enemy, making them ripe for a shooting.

Of course, with new weapons comes new perks. Perks were the star feature of CoD4, providing players with special abilities like faster sprinting, increased damage, or the ability to drop a grenade when you’re killed.
WaW’s perks will include Flak Jacket(saves your life against a single grenade attack), Shades (reduces the effect of a signal flare) and gas mask (grants immunity to gas attacks.) Recon Boosts are also available and oh yeah, now you can get a selection of sweet vehicle perks…

Update 1

Tank me Later

That’s right, vehicles are back. Your wheels of choice are heavy tanks: The Soviet T34 and German Panzer to be precise. The vehicle perks available will speed up the turret and decrease reload time, as well as give you a forward facing machine gun and decrease the overheat penalty.
One concern we initially had was that the tanks would tip the balance of gameplay in favour of whoever grabs them first.
However we needn’t have worried. The vehicle maps (four in total) have each been designed with balance in mind. Take the largest tank map. Set in the countryside, the central field provides a wide open space for vehicular warfare, while surrounding houses, walls and barns bestow blessed cover for infantry to move through. According to lead MP designer David Vonderhaar, it was an important design goal to make sure a infantry loving player wasn’t put of by vehicle inclusive maps.

Although, we’d be surprised to find anyone unhappy with how the tanks feel. The joy you;ll get from blasting a shell into enemy troops in obscene. Your buddies can share the thrill by hopping on the back for a ride – but beware – if friendly fire is switched off you run the risk of flattening them.
If you’re facing down a tank, a handy thing to know is that each one has 17 breakable plates, meaning if you hit the monster with an explosive, you’ll See a certain pieces blow out.

Update 2

Bosch and go

On foot the action is just as hard hitting and lethal as the stuff we saw in CoD4. More often than not, you’ll be staring at the black and white footage of your gruesome death, courtesy of a well placed bullet to the forehead and a replay via Kill cam. Weapon variety actually means something: shotguns are vicious one hit kills, but only if you hit the target with all 8 pellets. Meanwhile, semi-automatics are good for close combat attacks, but are highly inaccurate at distance. Best of all hit a kill streak, and you can summon either artillery strikes or unleash attack dogs to gnash at your opponents’ throats (and gain points for every soldier they down).
WaW lets you play as Russians vs Germans or Americans vs Japanese, with 14 maps to shoot around. There’s a good variety of sizer for larger battles, or more intimate skirmishes, each map is a playground of pain, presenting you with the architecture to try out a variety of tactics: shaded balconies for sniping. debris for hiding under, and wide open spaces for mad charges. Interestingly, the sprint option has been carefully considered when building the battlegrounds. In Makin, you’ll notice that you’ll run out sprint power just as you manage to bridge the gap between one hut and the next.
Game modes are equally as addictive. classic modes like Team Deathmatch & Search ‘n’ Destroy, are all in there, but it was CFT and War that caught our eye.”

Call of duty world at war will be shipped to those who preorder 3 days before the official release date so that everyone gets it at the same time, call of duty 5 / call of duty world at war beta will only run for 3 weeks as a few people have reported. So i think we should stop worrying about this mysterious beta version and just wait for the full version quite clearly we can already see that call of duty 5 / call of duty world at war is going to be a winner and a must have game for all FPS fans.
