call of duty wolrd at war (software pirating)
We found this COPY COD5 posted on a few sites already and the game isn’t even out yet its a disgrace in one respect but at the same time the gaming industry doesn’t try hard enough to protect its self.
Here is a quote from some wise minds from our colleges over in the UK
“Call of duty 5 (cod5) is coming out on all platforms well just about all platforms, All consoles that have been made in the last 2 years, call of duty: world at war will come in the following flavours: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS.
Ok lets look at this from an investors point of view, The last few years Activision shares have almost tippled in price, but looking at the platforms cod5 has been built for you cant blame investors from selling up and moving shares elsewhere. With more whispers of a modification chips being released for the Sony Playstation 3 (ps3) currently modification chips are available for all other platforms and are as easy to install as putting a bike chain on (we can all do that right ?) the new solder-less design enables a mod chip to be installed within 5 minutes. Today 80% of all gaming consoles call of duty world at war is available on can run pirated software, Now you all know what happened to call of duty 4 once it was cracked, the sales dropped / almost stopped, every second person was running a call of duty 5 cheat to be honest it was disgraceful. Now as i dabble in the share market i wouldn’t touch Activions shares with a 10 foot pole. One can only hope they have stepped up the call of duty 5 client side core code to prevent such things from happening.
I went a little of topic there, So here is what i am getting at.. would Activision not be better off spending more on copy protection than spending its time promoting its cod5 release at all the press conferences ? I know for a fact that the day it is released it will be copied and handed out on every platform possible.. who would want to invest in the software industry these days ?? I mean just take a look at This Here all its takes is a simple click and you have a mod chip at your door ready to play a game that should of cost you an arm and a leg, the gaming industry need a good shake up !
Well here is to hoping that cod5 is no where near as bad as the last call of duty release in terms of cheats & cracked servers.
Most people purchase cod5 to play on legal servers and thats the way it should stay !! the gaming industry is in danger when you look at the raw numbers who copy games, you have to wonder just how a company is meant to profit from its highly sort after skills.”
i totally agree with the investors staying away, but if these investors are so damm smart why arnt they funding a fool proof way to stop the copying of PC,PS3,xbox, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, games ?? i mean imagine the market if you could stop it from being pirated, every game developer would want to know you, your pockets would bottomless. well i hope you enjoyed the read a little nerdy but never the less these are the cold hard facts on call of duty world at war.
